The energy performance certification of a building is a process regulated by legal acts during which the energy consumption of a building is established, the energy performance of a building is evaluated by attributing the building to an energy performance class and the energy performance certificate of a building is issued.
The certification is performed following the Work Regulations approved at the company, which provides for the procedure of work of expert of energy performance certification of buildings and the fulfilment of procedures related with the energy performance certification of buildings.
Certification of buildings is obligatory:
- When buildings are constructed, sold or rented out. The builder of a building (client) or owner shall present the energy performance certificate of a building to the buyer or tenant at their request, the validity term of which should be no longer than 10 years. The provisions of this point are also applied when selling or renting out parts of buildings (apartments, premises of separate use of other purpose); in this case the energy performance certificate of part of the building may be issued on the basis of the certificate of the entire building with a common heating system or the certificate of any identical apartment in the same multi-apartment house;
- For buildings with more than 1000 sq m of useful area: hotels, administration, trade, service, nutrition, transport, culture, science, treatment and recreation buildings. The energy performance certificate of the building not older than 10 years, which is well visible to people, should be posted in a prominent place in such buildings.
